Big Bend Habitat for Humanity is breaking ground for a safe, decent and affordable home for Leon County resident Lateshee Daniels. This F.S.U./Community Build is being sponsored by the Florida State Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter, the Florida A&M University Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter and Premier Bank. The groundbreaking will begin Saturday, January 30th at 8:00 am on Pennlyn Drive.

Big Bend Habitat for Humanity presents a benefit performance of Grease performed by the Quincy Music Theatre. Thursday, February 18th, 2010. Reception begins at 7:00 pm and the show starts at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $20 each and proceeds from the show supports Habitat's mission of providing safe, decent and affordable housing for Leon and Gadsden County families in need.

"HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS"-WITH WARRICK DUNN AND WANNESSIA JEFFERSON AND FAMILY

The home of Wannessia Jefferson was dedicated today, Tuesday, December 15th at 9:00am to her great surprise, with the help of Warrick Dunn and the Warrick Dunn Foundation's "Home for the Holidays" program. The four bedroom/two bath home is located in the Tallahassee Highlands Neighborhood on Pennlyn Drive and is a Brinkmeyer/Board of Realtors Build. The home was sponsored in partnership with Wannessia and her family and several local businesses, churches and organizations including Sunshine Savings Bank, Hartung and Noblin, Inc., Premier Construction, Envision Credit Uniou, Don Pickett, Episcopal Church of the Advent, St. John's Episcopal Church, Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, Holy Cross Anglican Church, St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, Rotary Clubs of Tallahassee, FAMU Habitat for Humanity Chapter, Tallahassee Democrat, Affiliated Title Services, Esposito's, State Farm Insurance, Carlton Fields Law Firm, Hopping Green & Sams Law Firm and the Leon County Public Defenders Office.
Sponsors, Volunteers, Board members, staff and Habitat supporters gathered together to show support for Wannessia and her Family as their new home was dedicated to the Holy Father in prayer by Reverend O. Jermaine Simmons, Sr. of Jacob Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Leon County Commissioner, Bob Rackleff commended the Dunn Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and it's many sponsors, volunteers and contributors for their work in providing quality affordable housing for families in need. Wannessia and her family are the 91st recipient of the HFTH program which Dunn started in 1997 to honor his late mother's dream of homeownership.
